The Department of Agriculture and Environmental Studies, established in 2019, is a hub of innovation, diversity, and excellence. As the Head of this dynamic department, I take pride in introducing you to our passionate community of dedicated trainers and trainees who are committed to shaping the future of agriculture and environmental stewardship.
We are committed to holistically preparing trainees for impactful careers by focusing on:
- Quality Training: Delivering excellence in practical and theoretical education to transform trainees with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to address pressing issues like food security.
- Workplace Readiness: Equipping trainees with life skills, problem-solving abilities, and professionalism to thrive in diverse workplace environments and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s economic development.
Industrial Linkages and Resources
The department benefits from a strong Industrial Advisory Committee (IAC), which connects us with agricultural sector stakeholders. The IAC plays a key role in:
- Identifying training gaps to ensure our programs remain relevant and cutting-edge.
- Facilitating industrial placements to provide trainees with hands-on experience in real-world settings.
The department is equipped with modern state-of-the-art tools, equipment, and machinery that prepare trainees for entrepreneurial ventures or employment opportunities in both local and international markets.
